IS THIS SOMETHING I CAN AFFORD?

Probably, it is.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

Less than you might think.

The cost of your book project depends upon several factors, such as the book's length and scope. The most critical factor is how much you have prepared in advance. Some guidelines:

Basic Editing and Design

I will take your completed story and provide professional proofreading and copy editing to create a publication-quality manuscript.

I will add photos, cover design, page layouts, front and back matter and then assist you in publishing your book using a Print On Demand (P.O.D.) or other preferred provider.

I HAVE A FINISHED MANUSCRIPT

I HAVE A LOT OF NOTES AND A ROUGH DRAFT

Authoring from Notes

I will take your existing rough drafts, notes, audio files, etc. and use them to author new publication-quality content. Once every word has been approved, I will design the physical book to your specs and then work with you to either self-publish or secure a contract with a major commercial publishing house.

Authoring from scratch

I will conduct a series of recorded interviews with you and relevant others. I will use this information, in combination with my independent research, to author a quality engaging account of your life saga. Once the manuscript is completed, I will design the physical book and assist you in getting it published in the most appropriate manner.

I HAVE THE DESIRE TO WRITE MY MEMOIRS

AN EXAMPLE

The cost of an actual typical book project.

Bill Pearson is a successful retired businessman who wished to create a permanent literary record of his life. After accepting my proposal, he and I set to work, conducting regular interviews, going through photos, conducting research and authoring and refining an engaging narrative story. The project lasted 6 months and produced an 85,000 word book containing 36 photos. I had expended 215 billable hours, but since I had quoted a $20,000 cap, that is the amount that Bill paid. At the completion of the project, Bill had a professionally written, ready-to-publish book that included a wraparound dust-jacket, attractive page design, an Introduction, Glossary, Family Tree, a Photo Section, and a UPC barcode that enabled his book to be sold online and anywhere in the world.
